On Friday, I visited the school and attended the whole school assembly and then visited two year 6 classes. The assembly looked at setting personal goals, how we should work towards them and looking to improve ourselves. All the children enjoyed themselves as it was very interactive and fun. The thing I noticed was how well behaved all the children were.
I then  visited Mr Appleby’s year 6 class where they were having a literacy lesson and looking at formal styles of writing. The children were writing some excellent letters of complaint using both passive and active sentences. I was also challenged to join in the spelling test, fortunately I didn’t show myself up and got 9 out of 10! In the class I noticed how everyone was included and given equal chance to join in the class.
From there, I visited Mrs Griffiths’ Maths class where they were looking at data comparison graphs. This was the top group maths class and I was impressed how engaged all the children were. They all showed the right attitude to learning.
In both classes, children were happy to explain about the subjects they were studying and at all times polite and well behaved. I had an enjoyable morning and look forward to my next visit!
