Year 2 visited the woodland area this week to unwind after their SATs week with a spot of pond dipping! The children were amazed by the range of wildlife they found with a simple dip of their net. Dragonfly nymphs, water boatmen, earwig larvae (hiding inside their cocoons) and even a newt were all found by the children! They really loved exploring their tray and identifying the pondlife. Additionally, children spent some time searching for minibeasts in the woodland with their magnifying glasses and capture pots – they found slugs, snails and centipedes.
See if you can spot anything of interest in the photos!
