It was quite drizzly when we arrived around 11.30am. After lunch (chicken drumstick or meatballs) we had a tour of the site then unpacked and made our beds. We then enjoyed our first two activities:
Tea was sausage or sweet ‘n’ sour chicken, then we had a little time in our dorms before our final activity of the afternoon.
3 children were sick today. Two others came with injuries but nothing was going to stop them joining in!
Camp fire was this evening’s entertainment.
A noisy first night, as usual, and an early breakfast (7.30am) meant most children wandered over to the dining hall in their onesies.
Weather started fine, but became quite wet mid afternoon, just in time for 3 groups to head down to the beach!
Man from DEFRA – learning about coastal erosion
Disco night tonight and some VERY tired children -9pm and already 3 in bed, even though the disco hasn’t finished yet.
Most needed waking for breakfast this morning!
Weather was very variable today …………….
……………………… but we all had a good time:
Tonight’s activities were Hot Spots & mini Olympics.
Madeline’s arrival meant it was like the first night all over again in her dormitory…..ugh! But quite satisfying waking them up for breakfast this morning!
Good luck Natasha – hope all goes well today.
The sky is blue with fluffy white clouds. Fingers crossed for a dry day. More groups going to the beach again today.
Okay, so blue skies and sunshine don’t necessarily mean warm weather – it’s freezing today!
Less than 24 hours later, Mrs Hall and Mrs Kidd have swapped their umbrella for sunglasses.
Wacky Races & Hot Spots were this evening’s entertainment.
Children are now packing and getting ready for bed. We anticipate leaving at 1pm tomorrow, so should be home between 4 and 4.30pm
I’m sure it’s getting darker and darker each morning.
The last breakfast @ 7.30am and happy birthday Thomas.
Rooms have been cleared, beds stripped and last couple of activities being enjoyed – although everyone is VERY tired and looking forward to getting home.
