This year we have gone with a Harry Potter theme and each class has created a Christmas hoop which are (as always) displayed along the ground floor corridor.
5 musicians spent the day showing the children how to play different wind instruments.
WWII Tea Party
Year 6 entertained mums, dads, grandparents and other family and friends with World War Two songs and poems. They then served their guests tea and cakes whilst they listened to stories about WWII.
Y5 Greek Day
As part of our New Beginnings assembly theme, classes were given the challenge of finding something new to do with a very old reel of thread. They came up with some amazing ideas. Well done and thank you.

Bobby Wins Tumble
Many congratulations to ex-pupil Bobby Lockwood for winning the gymnastics competition Tumble tonight. A truly inspiring performance.
Since leaving our school Bobby has already supported year 6 literacy by talking to pupils about the characters he plays and he has helped to motivate year 5 boys with their reading.
Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Reilly on the birth of their daughter Lucy Amelia.
The final assembly for our year 6s and goodbye to Mrs Cole, Mrs Hernaman, Mrs Collins, Mrs See and Mr Williams. Just in case Mr Williams misses Mr Martin he received an everlasting reminder!
The Songwriting Charity came in to run a Bully Beat workshop with some of our pupils. They spent the entire day composing the lyrics and tune for their song 'All Alone'. You can watch their video here.

Year 4 pupils with a flair for ICT have been working with Mr Williams over the last half term to produce a podcast about our school. Listen to it here
Year 3 visited Wat Tyler country park to learn about animals and their habitats. They had a great time!
Year 5 visited Barnards Farm to study the sculptures. Some were amazing!!
Summer Fun Evening
After winning the Wickford heat of the rounders competition, our team played in the area final at William de Ferrers school. They finished in 2nd position by only 1 rounder! WELL DONE.
Creative Arts Festival
Well done and thank you to the Year 6 minions who performed at the open air dance show last night. You were despicable!
After a very sunny rehearsal in the morning sheltering under the gazebo, the heavens opened at 6pm just before the show began, so we sheltered under the gazebo again as everyone else ran for shelter in WIckford Infant's school hall ! Luckily, the cloud passed and the show was a huge success. Thanks to the infants for hosting.

British triple jumper, Kola, visited our school today with Julian from Sport for Schools to organise our sponsored fitness circuit. Kola then gave us an inspiring assembly about his life and sports career. We are very grateful he was able to stand in at the last minute as Abigail was delayed at an athletics meeting in Geneva. They were equally impressed with our perseverance, not giving up with the exercises, and how helpful our Rising Stars were (Grace, Callum & Sam) organising the circuit and classes. So well done to everyone!
District Athletics Heats
Congratulations to the Athletics Squad who finished in joint 2nd place at the Wickford heat of the Basildon District Athletics Championships.

It Rained and Rained
It rained quite a lot at home time on Tuesday; Carys and Mae were concerned about their hair getting wet.
Phoebe had 18inches cut off her hair to donate to the Little Princess Trust to make a wig for a girl who has lost their hair through chemotherapy. Well done Phoebe.
Year 5 visited Anglian Water Treatment plant to learn how our water is cleaned and delivered to our houses. They even cleaned some dirty water themselves.
Author, Jim Smith, visited today to talk to years 4 & 5 about his books and to show us how he illustrates his characters.
Toby from Just Different visited Year 3 yesterday to talk about celebrating differences and Charlotte and Ellen from Mushroom Theatre Company visited today to perform their ballet duet.
Congratulations to our gala squad, who all qualified for the finals of the Basildon District swimming gala and, as you can see from the photo, several won medals: Charlotte GOLD in front crawl, Cole GOLD in , Year 6 girls relay BRONZE, Year 6 boys relay BRONZE, Mae BRONZE in front crawl and Will BRONZE in backstroke.
Sport Relief began today with a pupils v staff benchball match........
....and Mrs Robbins completed an obstacle course blindfolded.
We raised £366 for Sport Relief and Cancer Research UK.

Wickford Music Festival
The first ever Wickford music festival took place at Beauchamps school today. Primary schools from the town each performed their own song and joined in with some collective singing. The performance was opened and compered by Beauchamps students. Our year 5 choir sang 'Can You Feel the Love Tonight?' beautifully. Well done!
