We are really fortunate to have Wickford swimming pool right next door to school, so children swim alternate half-terms from year 3 to year 6. As swimming is such an important life skill, we are proud that our children generally exceed the National Curriculum requirements within the first two years of lessons, so they are able to master the skills required for water safety and competition.
Lessons are taught by Everyone Active’s qualified instructors so there is a small charge for which we are grateful for parents / carers contributions.
Every term children are assessed and awarded certificates as outlined below:
|Stage 1||Can walk, hop, jump & spin in water.|
|Stage 2||Can float and move with or without swimming aids. Can propel using basic strokes.|
